I have so many fond memories of my records and my record player, like putting on my headset and cranking up the tunes while playing on my PC jr.!

I saw this really cool coaster tutorial on The Spotted Sparrow and I knew I had to give it a try. And when I was trying to come up with different kinds of crafts for the craft-a-long I remembered this tutorial and decided I would immortalize some of my favorite ’80s album covers on coasters.
So here they are:
Belinda – Belinda Carlisle
Beauty and the Beat – The Go-Gos
Like a Prayer – Madonna
The Best of Berlin – Berlin
Like A Prayer turned out the best, and rightfully so. It is my favorite album of all time, and the one I would want with me if I was stuck on a deserted island, that and maybe Concrete Blonde’s Bloodletting too!
Anyway, the project was really a lot easier than I anticipated. I just scanned my CD covers into my computer and printed them out the size of the tile. I then followed the instructions on the tutorial. They did curl up a little, so next time I think I need more Mod Podge underneath the pictures, but other than that they turned out pretty cool!
I really wanted to include Duran Duran’s Rio and Bananarama’s True Confessions, since those were two of my absolute favorite ’80s albums, but I couldn’t find my CDs. Maybe I’ll add them to my coasters the next time I get up in my attic. 🙂

  1. Great idea!

However I must point out that, although a Steelers fan myself, the song is getting annoying 😛

(but I have a thing about music on websites, so it might just be me!)
