Well, I feared this day may come, though I had hoped it never would. I found Desdemona’s owners, and on Valentine’s Day, just another reason to hate Valentine’s Day.

I won’t go into all the details, but they had been looking for Desdemona or Mica, her real name, which means “little one” in Romanian for two months. They were so excited to see her! The woman hugged me and started to cry when she picked Desdemona up. I am glad that they got her back, as they were really nice people, but Drusilla and I are going to miss her lots.
We’re going to take some time to think about whether or not we’ll be getting another little girl, so in the meantime it’s just going to be the two of us.  For now, we’ll be spending the rest of the weekend drowning ourselves in ice cream and salmon treats!

  1. Oh, I’m so sorry. She is beautiful, and what a lucky girl to have had TWO families love her that much. She’ll always be in your heart.

  3. I give you tons of credit for being such a GREAT samaritan. I know Desdemona will be missed by you and Drusilla, but your generous heart has spared anothers ache.
