- I am 45, although I don’t feel 45.
- I grew up on the outskirts of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
- I am a Christian, and I take my faith very seriously.
- In the ’80s, I was the roller skating queen. I used to roller skate around my pool for hours kicking up the Chattahoochee stones and leaving gaping holes in my deck. Twice a year my mom made me patch up the holes.
- I once swam with sharks in the Florida Keys. Did you notice I only said ONCE?!
- I get migraines and can’t eat a lot of food, including chocolate.
- I love the color lavender.
- Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is my favorite movie of all time. Pretty sure I can quote the entire movie.
- I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, but I started out as a music major.
- I love all kinds of music, except for rap and jazz.
- I love Nocciola gelato.
- I was both a Brownie and a Girl Scout. My mother was the co-leader for my troop.
- While in the Girl Scouts, I had to compete in a pie eating contest. To this day I cannot even look at a cherry pie without getting sick to my stomach.
- I’m a pretty big introvert.
- I am currently writing two books: an ’80s time travel novel and a musical mystery series.
- I love The Partridge Family and David Cassidy. I cried when I heard he had passed away. My cat Daphne’s favorite toy is a catnip filled David Cassidy picture that I got on Etsy.
- The first song I learned to play on the piano was Madonna’s Like a Virgin.
- I learned to ice skate in Florida.
- I love going to concerts and try to go to at least one a year. My most recent was Whitesnake and Foreigner. They rocked!
- My first crush was Andy Gibb.
- I worked in book publishing for 15 years until I was laid off in 2017. I loved every minute of it, well, almost every minute of it!
- I have been to Walt Disney World over 100 times.
- I sang in Disney’s Christmas Candlelight Processional twice, when it was still held at the Magic Kingdom. It was one of the coolest things I’ve ever done.
- I have never broken a bone.
- When I was younger I was really into horror movies and scary things. My 10th grade research project was on Jack the Ripper.
- I currently live in North Carolina, and I love it!
- I taught myself to crochet when I was 32.
- I love to play vintage board games. My favorite is Clue.
- I also love jigsaw puzzles, especially Charles Wysocki puzzles.
- I love to play video and online games. Centipede was my jam back in the day. I used to play every morning before school.
- I am a Starbucks junkie. My go to drink is a Trenta Very Berry Hibiscus. Yum!
- I am a HUGE ’80s fan. I have a knack for knowing the year that a song, album, or movie was released in the ’80s. I’d make a good “dial a friend” option for ’80s trivia.
- Simon Le Bon is my favorite member of Duran Duran. I am a huge Duranie too!
- And a Fanilow! Yes, I love Barry Manilow.
- My college major is English, but I mostly studied British literature and poetry. I love symbolism.
- I am a sucker for a British accent. Hello, Tom Hiddleston and James McAvoy!
- I am not a huge fan of online shopping. I prefer browsing in the shops or at the mall.
- I can’t knit to save my life. I’ve taken classes in person and online, but I just can’t get it.
- I am so un-athletic, except for roller skating, ice skating, and Pilates.
- I also won the Presidential Physical Fitness Award twice in middle school, which is a big joke in my family.
- I love tea! I hate coffee.
- When I was younger I wanted to be Nancy Drew or Belinda Carlisle.
- Now I want to be J.K. Rowling or Stevie Nicks.
- But, I still want to be Nancy Drew.
- When I’m sick I eat mac & cheese and watch Disney’s The Rescuers.
- I have been published four times in various craft publications.
- I love surprise endings in books or movies, but I hate being surprised in real life.
- I also hate practical jokes.
- I grew up in South Florida and have gone through my fair share of hurricanes, including Hurricane Andrew.
- I’m definitely a Southern girl. I love sweet tea and say y’all.
