One of my goals of 2016 is to destash as much yarn as I can this year, so I looked for a project that would be fun, simple, colorful, and most importantly destash a ton of yarn. I found the perfect free blanket pattern:
Vintage Vertical Stripe Crocheted Blanket by Bella Dia
I love the simplicity of this pattern and also the many different color combos you can choose. And if you are on Ravelry, and if you aren’t you should be, you can check out all of the different blankets that have been crocheted using this pattern.
I’ve decided to make this blanket for my bedroom. I already have a few blankets, but they are all pretty heavy. This one will be nice for the spring and fall. Since I’m making it for my bedroom, I’m choosing colors to match my bedroom color scheme.
Here is the yarn I’ll be using from my stash:
Antique Rose – Vanna’s Choice
Peacock – Bernat Super Saver
White – unknown
Buff – Red Heart Super Saver
Silver Blue – Vanna’s Choice
Lime – Vanna’s Choice
Peach – unknown
Baby Pink – Red Heart Super Saver
Sweet Pea – Vanna’s Choice Baby
Light Teal – unknown
White – unknown
Tan – unknown
Radiant Orange – Vanna’s Choice
Light Pink – unknown
Light Blue – Red Heart Super Saver
I am chaining 188 with a size H hook. It is still going to be a pretty large blanket, but not as gigantic as the 250 chain that the pattern calls for. I’m excited to get started!
Are you working on any year long craft projects or working on destashing in 2016?
