Well, I think I might have completely lost my mind! I have signed up for Sew Mama Sew‘s Make it Wear it challenge. The challenge: to sew a piece of clothing in the month of June.
Now, I’ve only been sewing with the machine for a week and a half, but I am jumping in feet first. After all, what is the worst that can happen?
Poor Theo!
I’ve chosen this super simple pattern, or so the instructions say.
We’ll see exactly how simple it really is.
I’m making the shirt only. I think pants are a little too much for me right now. And, I didn’t realize it until last night, but the shirt has 3 pockets too. Good grief!
Now I just need to get some fabric. Any suggestions? I’m assuming a cotton fabric is the best for scrubs. I haven’t read the pattern yet, so I am not sure if it offers fabric suggestions. I guess I should look it over soon. 🙂
JoAnn's Fabrics actually has a section of fabric for scrubs. I'm sure other fabric stores might too. Here's a link to a dress you could make, it's good for beginners

…she provides a tutorial on it too. Have fun!

I like to use a cotton blend so I don't have to iron my scrubs. Other people don't mind ironing but it's one of my least favorite things 🙂 This would be a good pattern to start with since they are pretty easy to make. Personally, I think pants are easier …why not try them both?
