Can you believe it is already March? I can’t, though with the freezing cold, snowy winter we’ve had (and more snow this week!) I am glad it is March!

Thanks for all of the well wishes these last few weeks. I am finally over my flu but have developed a terrible case of bronchitis and dehydration, which led me to not only a visit with the doctor but also bed rest for five days. I guess that was better than a stay in the hospital. Boy, when I get sick I really get sick!
Anyway, since I’ve been paying special attention to keeping my throat and chest covered, I decided to crochet myself a scarf. I know I’ve only got a few weeks of scarf wearing weather left, but I’ve been wanting to try this pattern for a while now so I figured what better time than now to give it a go.

My pretty in pink scarf is perfect! I bought this yarn three years ago when I first learned to crochet. I love the color and soft feel, but have been keeping it for just the right project.
I still have some yarn left so I am thinking of attempting to make myself a hat. That should be funny since my last hat is now being used as a Christmas doily. 🙂
The design for the scarf came from Stitch N’ Bitch Crochet: The Happy Hooker book. This was also the first book I bought after learning to crochet. I have done one other project from the book, but this scarf has been on my todo list for years.
I also used this project for two events in the Ravelympics on Ravelry:

It was super easy to crochet and is really cute, but it has very large holes. I’m thinking it is not going to be so warm, so maybe I’ll use it as a spring scarf. Now I need to buy a new outfit to match my scarf!
. . . . . . . . . . . . . .
For this destash-along project I used 100% of my yarn stash.
