One of my favorite things to craft is food! I don’t know why since I am not a huge foodie. Maybe it is the simplicity of the items. Or maybe the fact that they look good enough to eat, like my crocheted doughnut pincushion that I made using a FREE pattern I found on the Lion Brand Yarn website. (Contains affiliate links.)
Have you heard of Amigurumi but have no idea what it is? According to Wikipedia, “Amigurumi is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small, stuffed yarn creatures”. A simple explanation for a difficult word!

This is a fun and simple project. And depending on your skill set can be made in an hour, or so.
I would say this is an advanced beginner pattern because it requires you to not only know how to single crochet but how to crochet in the round and single crochet two stitches together. These are a little more advanced stitches than the single crochet stitch, but nothing terribly difficult.
I hope you give this super sweet pattern a try. And you don’t have to make a pincushion. You can make several doughnuts and serve them at your next play tea party!
