Drusilla has been feeling under the weather this week. My poor baby girl!
Back in July, when I took her for her yearly physical, the vet told me that she was putting on a little weight. She said I should change her food to a weight control food. Unfortunately, I think this weight control food has made her susceptible to hairballs.
So, I have decided to take her off of the new food and put her back on her old food, which she likes better anyway, just in smaller serving sizes.
I am also seriously considering getting a pet hair vacuum.
The two I am thinking about are the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser and the Eureka Pet Lover Bagless Upright.
Does anyone have either of these or know of a better pet vacuum (I can’t afford the $400+ Dyson ones though)?
I’m thinking of buying one of these on Black Friday, so any comments about either would be very helpful to me and especially to Drusilla!
Have you tried other alternatives such as “Hairball remedy” food?
I know Science Diet makes one and you probably already know that she needs high fiber.
Also, lots of brushing and adding about 2t. melted butter to her diet every couple weeks should assist her in “eliminating” said culprit.
Aww I’m sorry to hear about your furbaby. One of my furbabies has long hair and we are constantly having to brush her to prevent hairballs. I’m curious to hear about the vacuums myself.
Aww, poor baby. We have wood so I don’ have a vacuum rec but my cats LOVE Natural Life. It’s organic, made in the states from humanely treated animals and has no fillers so you feed them less. I have two long haired siameses and neither of them has ever had a hairball that I know of. And I’ll admit it, I’m bad about the brushing. =)
I hope your baby feels better soon!

Oh! But they’re both shelter cats, lol! I just had to throw that in there. “long haired simeses” kinda makes me sounds like a kitty buyer. They’re rescues, I promise! =)

Oooo, I want one of those vacuums! We registered for the first one for our wedding this past Spring but nobody bought it. 🙁
Let me know if you are interested in a pet portrait necklace! 🙂

Good luck with the hairballs! One of my cats has trouble with this, too. My huband wants one of these vacuum cleaners, so I hope someone gives you good feedback on one.
