It was a little crazy last week. What started out as a yearly exam for Daphne quickly turned into dental surgery. During her exam she was diagnosed with a fractured tooth and abscess, which meant the tooth needed to be removed asap. A day later, she was smiling with one less tooth!

The great news is she is doing wonderful and, according to the vet, probably feeling 100% better too. Abscesses are extremely painful, so I am sure Daphne is happy to have that thing taken out.

I’m not sure if you can see in the picture, but she had both the left side of her neck and right leg shaved for the IVs. She does look a whole lot happier than she did last week. Almost like she is smiling. 🙂

The only troubling thing is she is not allowed to eat any hard food until this Saturday. That is tough since Drusilla only eats dry food. Needless to say, both girls have been very unhappy with me for not leaving their dry food out for them to eat. I keep telling them they only have a few more days to go, but that is easier said than done!

  1. People think I'm strange for saying that my cat has facial expressions- but why shouldn't cats show emotion on their faces?!

    She's a beauty, and I'm glad she's feeling better!

  3. Oh! Poor kitty. I am sure she is feeling much better but so hard to understand why she is being deprived of her favorite food. If I change our cats food at all, she has major digestive disruptions which results in a trip to the vet. Every day I feed the poor cats in the street and wish I could take them all home with me. The kids wish the same but my husband says NO WAY! Wishing you a day of blessings, Tammy

  5. What a sweetie pie she is! So glad you got her to the vet in time as abcesses can be very serious. She just looks so cute!
    Hugs,
Sharon 🙂 and Miss Gracie, too
