Okay, I know I am a few weeks behind with this crochet along, but I am bound and determined to make myself a crocheted pillowcase.
Two weekends ago my friend Debbie and I had a craft day. I was going to work on my crocheted sweater, which is just so behind schedule, but when I remembered that Debbie knows how to sew using a sewing machine I asked if she would help me sew my pillowcase. It worked out great, because not only did she help me with the pillowcase, but she gave me a sewing 101 lesson.
Debbie crafts a lot like I do. We don’t really like to use patterns, so we improvise a lot. She wanted an elastic tablecloth for her kitchen table, so she whipped one up using items she had laying around in the house. Totally cool and total destash along project. 🙂
I had forgotten to print out the pattern for the pillowcase, so Debbie improvised and used one of her pillowcases as a template. It worked out great.
After about 45 minutes of me sewing at a snail’s pace, my pillowcase was finally finished.
Yay! My very first machine sewing project turned out really nice. Thanks again, Debbie! Now I have to get to crocheting the edge.
You did a great job, Missy! I can't wait to see the crocheted edge. Have a creative day.

Yeah I am a SLOW sewer as well. That turned out really cute! And how much cuter even with a crocheted edge.

Nice!! My pillowcase is a destash project too! I'm just having a heck of a time with the "firm foundation"…I think I need a needle with a bigger eye. It's being tuff!

I've been sewing for 40+ years and I am a slow stitcher too.
Can't wait to see how you crochet the edges!
