Welcome to the final day of the granny along!

Well, it has been a long two months. But after 9 weeks, 20 squares, 4 skeins of white yarn, 1 very large skein of green yarn, and several dozen hours of crocheting, the granny along and my La Push blanket is finally complete.
Here is how it all came together.

And finally, my very own La Push blanket!
Woo Hoo!! I think it looks a lot like Angela’s.

I am really happy with the way it turned out. And believe me, I had my doubts that this would turn out even acceptable, especially when it took me 2 weeks to figure out the 2nd row! I did tweak it a little when I joined the squares. I added a little texture by holding the squares together and stitching a ridge instead of making it flat to give it my own special touch.
It has become a great addition to the living room and my chair.
The girls like it too, but I am going to try to keep them off of it for now.

Yeah, no such luck. 🙂
I think I am now all ready for the premier of Eclipse. I’ll be going Friday night, and if it wasn’t 97 degrees outside I’d take my blanket to the movie theatre with me. So instead, I thought I’d wear this shirt.
I think it compliments the blanket, don’t you? Does this make me Team Jacob now. 🙂 I guess I’ll have to make myself this shirt too to be neutral.

I hope you enjoyed the granny along. I want to thank all of you who joined in. And a special thanks to Megan from Crochet Every Day for crocheting the La Push blanket with me. It was nice having another crafter crocheting the same blanket. 🙂
If you didn’t get to join this time, no worries. I’ll be hosting another CAL sometime this fall. I’m thinking of choosing a holiday pattern this time. Any suggestions? Halloween? Christmas? I think I’ll let everyone pick the next pattern, so keep an eye out for a voting box on my sidebar. Voting will begin sometime in August.
Thanks again everyone, especially for your words of encouragement. I don’t think I could have gotten this done without you!

. . . . . . . . . . . .

For this destash-along project I used 50% of my yarn stash.

  3. So funny…. your cats look just like mine sitting there just waiting until the throw is theirs! As part of the destash challenge, I am NOT going to Scrapbook Expo this year in August. The main reason for going is to see and buy all kinds of new artsy craftsy items that you can't get in one place. Plus, many new items are there. No, I"m going to just use whatever is in my current supply. I have to admit that I do enjoy going to the flea market occasionally although I did cut way back. :-0
