Wow, back to back months with a Friday the 13th. That is pretty spooky, and cool!

I am glad I got to incorporate an ’80s project for this “special” day. And yep, you guessed it, my project was inspired by the ’80s horror classic, Friday the 13th.
I really wasn’t sure how I wanted to go about making a Jason Voorhees craft, but then I thought of Drusilla and how I had only made her one thing throughout this entire craft-a-long. So, for her I made a couple of cat toys, ’80s style.
The first one is the infamous hockey mask that Jason always has on. I tried to make it look as much as the one in the movie as I could, but working with tiny pieces of felt and embroidery on a cat toy was not easy.  Plus, I wanted to make sure it was safe for her to play with.
The second is his signature machete. I know it is pretty gross, but I had to put some blood on there somewhere. I also wished I could have fit “Property of Camp Crystal Lake” on the handle, but that wasn’t even an option.
Drusilla has enjoyed playing with both toys, but has really taken to the bloody machete. Now, why doesn’t that surprise me!

  1. These are SO awesome.. and my husband will totally approve of this since he’s a horror-fanatic! So cool, great job!! 😀 I have to say that these are the best cat toys I’ve ever seen in my life, hands down.

  3. Squee! Those are fantastic!

And what? You couldn’t hand embroider microscopic lettering onto that machete handle what’s wrong with you? 😉
