The countdown is on, not only for Christmas but also for the beginning of 2010. I am welcoming 2010 with open arms (please, no drama throughout the year) and a brand new craft project!
Since I started crocheting almost four years ago (wow, time flies) there have been two items I have wanted to make myself: a throw and a piece of clothing. I’ve decided that this is the year to treat myself to one of my own. The only problem. . . I can’t figure out which pattern to choose. This is where y’all can help.
Below are five patterns I am contemplating crocheting. I would love it if you would give me your opinion and vote on which one you think I should do. You’ll see I’ve added a voting box to my sidebar. All you have to do is click on the pattern that you think I should make. Whichever pattern gets the most votes will be the one I crochet!
This will also be my
HPCKHC O.W.L. project for this semester. I didn’t come anywhere near finishing last semester’s project, so I really want to focus a lot of my energy on completing this semester’s project.
Here are the choices:
Pattern #2:
Fireside Throw
For the throws, I am unsure about the colors since I am thinking about painting my bedroom a totally different color. So, don’t let the colors in the pictures persuade you one way or the other since they might be changed. I do love the bright colors of the ripple throw.
As far as the jackets are concerned, I am open to color suggestions. If you voted for one of the jackets feel free to leave me a comment with your color suggestions. Nothing too crazy though. I would like to be able to wear it in public, as long as it turns out wearable. All I keep thinking about is the Cosby Show and Denise’s shirt she made for Theo. I fear that might be what mine turns out looking like. 🙂
Also, if you have a suggestion for a light (DK) weight yarn, I’d love to hear it!
Voting will be open until midnight on New Year’s Eve. Once I know which pattern has been chosen I will have the weekend to buy whatever yarn (and pattern if the Big Bow Cardigan is chosen) I will need for my project.
As a little thank you for all of you who take the time to vote, I will be giving away a little crocheted goodie. . . a set of my crocheted neapolitan bonbons.
They are perfect for a children’s tea party (though they do contain paint and a tiny bit of glue) or on a pretty plate for display (my plate is not included).
Want to be entered in the giveaway? Here’s what to do:
1. Leave a comment telling me which pattern you chose. Please only comment once and make sure you have left either an email address or a working blog link so I can contact you if you are the winner.
2. You can be entered a second time by becoming a follower of my blog. Just leave me a second comment telling me you are now a follower. If you are already a follower (I love you guys), leave me a second comment stating you already follow my blog.
That’s it! I’ll pick the winner over the New Year’s weekend, via a random number generator, and will post the winner as well as the winning pattern on Monday, January 4.
This giveaway is open to everyone no matter where you are, so go ahead and enter.
Good Luck and pick me a great pattern. I can’t wait to see which one wins!
**The sidebar poll is now up and running. Thanks for your patience!**
***If you leave a comment and don’t see it right away, don’t worry. I have become a target for spammers. They are leaving pretty nasty stuff. I have made it so I have to approve all comments before they are posted. I’m sorry it has come to this. I’ll try to approve all comments as soon as I can. Thanks!***
I vote for the cardigan. I think a nice green would be nice. I am sure you'll do fine but I want to see a picture no matter what. I'm sure it'll be better than the one Theo got. I love that episode.

"I chose the essential jacket. I also liked the big bow jacket, but the essential seemed more versatile."

"Voted, but I didn't see where to leave the comment, so I'll leave it here. I don't want to sway the voting, but I'll say that I'm in love with the chevron lace and big bow cardigans. I picked between those two. I think I'll attempt mine after you finish yours so I can glean from your wisdom. :o)"

By the way, I love your blog name!!
Oh, and you must pick this comment as the winner, because I simply must have one of your gorgeous creations!
Well I was going to vote for one of the throws, but when I saw the Chevron Lace Cardigan, I just couldn't resist! It's gorgeous!! And If you got a gorgeous button, it could become timeless…are you gonna make us vote on the colour too? lol
