So, after spending all of the time yesterday talking about how I wanted to destash my yarn I went ahead and used my felt to make my first destash-along project. Go figure! Oh well. My felt is in need of a little slimming down too.

Thanks to a link from my friend Debbie, I found this super simple and cute felt project.

This winter has been especially cold for us in the Carolinas. Needless to say, I’ve been going through boxes and boxes of Kleenex. Every time I go to the store, I stand for minutes trying to choose the box that is the closest color to my room. But now, with my own tissue covers, it won’t matter what color they are.

Here are the two I finished this weekend:

One for my bathroom.

And one for the living room.


Pretty snazzy! Mine didn’t work exactly like Martha’s, but then again when do my projects ever work exactly like Martha’s? So because they were a little off, I used my handy dandy tape and taped the corners of the felt to the bottom of the box. Perfect!

For this destash-along project I used 100% of my craft stash. What a way to start!

  1. I knew the details would end up here if I would just be PATIENT, haha.
    I like this idea because it's always the really garish and ugly tissue boxes that are cheaper even when they hold the same exact sort of tissues as the others.

    And oh do I know what you mean when you say when do your projects ever work just like Martha's!

  3. I like it! I am a Puffs with Lotion fanatic! I may do this with little felt embellishments of some sort. Gotta check the stash!

    Where in NC are you freezing your buns off? We're between Pittsboro and Chapel Hill.
