Day 4 – A New Skill

Is there a skill related to your hobby that you hope to learn one day? maybe you’re a crocheter who’d also like to knit? Maybe you’d like to learn to knit continental, knit backwards, try cables or attempt stranded colourwork.

While I would love to learn to knit, there is still one crochet skill I’d like to learn: tapestry crochet.
According to Crochetme.com, tapestry crochet is ” similar to regular crochet, except that more than one yarn is used at the same time to create a colorful fabric. Actually, one or more yarns are carried while another yarn is single crocheted. The finished pieces look woven instead of crocheted.”
It scares me because it sounds really complicated, but I must try it one day. There are a few cool purses that I really want to make.

I also have a pattern for a vulture felted bag. It is pretty awesome. I think the vulture or the skull bag would be cool to use as a Halloween candy container. I wonder if I can learn in 5 months?!

  1. What a great idea for Halloween bags! I hadn't heard of this technique before, and might like to learn. Best of luck to you!
